The Ice Hotel project in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden, is featured on Dezeen, a leading international design and architecture platform.
The publication presents a collaboration involving ten international lighting designers invited to create Art Suites within the hotel, which is rebuilt each year using snow and ice.
Organized by the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, the project explores the relationship between light, frozen material, and the Arctic landscape, emphasizing the ephemeral nature of architecture.
Among the invited designers are Marie-Ikram Bouhlel, Isabel Villar, Monica Popesco, Zoi Tsianto, Vanessa Orozco, Caroline X, Jorg Frank Seemann, Petros Dermatas, Basar Erdner, and Pedro Ek Lopez.
The feature highlights a lighting approach where light interacts with ice and space, shaping immersive environments defined by reflection, shadow, and natural variation.
