Location: Paris 13th District – Essonne, France
As part of the lighting design for the BHNS TZen5 line, connecting Paris’s 13th district to Choisy-le-Roi over 4.8 km and 19 stations, Atelier dada designed a specific pedestrian luminaire: BLU.CIOLES.
Featuring a perforated shade, the luminaire offers a hybrid reading of public space, creating a subtle transition between private and collective realms. A cyan-blue light filters through the material, generating delicate shadow and light effects, while ground-level lighting remains warm white to ensure visual comfort and functional clarity.
Inspired by the perforated motifs of the adjacent technical substation—also lit by Atelier dada—BLU.CIOLES establishes a formal and narrative continuity across the project. It contributes to a coherent nocturnal identity, combining innovation, use, and integration within the urban environment.
The project, initiated in 2018, is currently under construction.
