ASCENSION
Visual Identity for Capital towers, twin corporate towers complex
The lighting philosophy behind Capital Towers draws its strength from the layered identity of Gurugram, a city where historic depth and contemporary ambition coexist. Anchored along the prestigious MG Road, close to the metro and just twenty minutes from New Delhi Airport, the complex forms a central urban epicenter combining high-end retail, arcades and office spaces. Visible from near and far, the towers assert themselves as luminous landmarks within the metropolitan landscape.
Following the presentation of several façade concepts, the client selected a proposal designed by our collaborator Aditi Chheda, then an intern at Atelier dada. The concept is built around a clear metaphor of ascension, expressed through ascending planes of light that reinforce the visual identity of the developer EMAAR. Subtle chromatic variations distinguish the two towers, giving each a singular presence while maintaining a coherent and refined ensemble.
Inside, the lighting of the semi-public spaces was conceived to create a sense of prestige and surprise, delivering a discreet “wow” effect without excess. Given the controlled budget allocated to the project, the design embraces a minimalist aesthetic, focusing on ergonomics, visual comfort and precision, achieving an atmosphere that feels both luxurious and accessible.
The landscape lighting completes this composition with care. Light gently guides workers and visitors toward entrances and exits, while forming luminous pockets within the gardens. These softly illuminated areas invite pause, conversation and calm movement, subtly extending the developer’s identity into the public realm.
Through this approach, Capital Towers embodies a luminous vision where design, function and symbolism converge. Light becomes a language of elevation, expressing ambition and elegance at the heart of Gurugram.
