Aadi Yogi
CAPSTONE : The Meditative Tower Breathing Light
At dusk, the mixed-use Capstone tower, designed by Atelier dada for the client D&C Developer, appears like a Yogi in meditation, revealing a calm and contained inner light. The main façade is structured around a central luminous axis evoking the seven chakras, centres of vital energy, while the lateral lines suggest a latent breath, like the lungs of a soothed body. At the top level, the windows fitted with brise-soleil embody the soul of the building, stable and timeless.
Then, at the beginning of every hour, for five minutes, the Yogi awakens. It symbolically turns towards passers-by and addresses them with a silent invitation. Its soul remains constant, but its breathing becomes perceptible. The lines of light representing the lungs expand and contract in a slow, deep breath, while the chakras pulse gently, like a heart in balance. This luminous sequence suspends the ordinary flow of time and opens a pause within the breathless rhythm of the day.
Capstone thus offers a brief yet perceptible moment of recentering. By observing this breathing made visible, passers-by are invited to slow down, to breathe with the building, to let body and mind step away for a moment from the rush of daily life and prepare gently for the night. Light then becomes a discreet language, a quiet call to recentering and appeasement.
