A Symphony of Light and Classical Architecture
Illuminating the Banquet Hall of Hotel Hillock
The Banquet Hall at Hotel Hillock, designed by architects Dilip Soni and Ujjval Panchal, stands as an homage to classical European architecture, drawing inspiration from the grandeur and theatricality of the Trevi Fountain in Rome.
While site constraints did not allow for the presence of an actual fountain, the project retains its majestic spirit through refined proportions, sculptural details and a strong sense of symmetry, all characteristic of Dilip Soni’s architectural language. Atelier dada’s lighting concept was conceived to amplify this classical narrative while supporting the building’s dual function as a luxury banquet hall and restaurant.
The façade lighting relies on warm uplighting to reveal columns, arches and cornices, creating a rhythmic composition that enhances the architectural hierarchy and reinforces the sense of timeless elegance. Along the side elevation, soft caustic projections and a balanced play of light and shadow animate the classical elements, giving depth and presence to the building after nightfall. At the entrance, accent lighting highlights the central arch and sculptural reliefs, inviting guests into a space where grandeur meets intimacy.
Inside, the lighting design transforms the banquet hall into an opulent and flexible venue, carefully combining ambient and decorative lighting to support prestigious events and celebrations. Each luminaire was selected to remain faithful to the classical inspiration while ensuring visual comfort and adaptability. More than a functional space, the Banquet Hall at Hotel Hillock becomes a luminous journey through time, where architecture and light converge to create a memorable and immersive atmosphere.
