How can you seamlessly extend architectural lighting design into semi-open landscape areas?

The language of linear light runs seamlessly through the entire Mondeal Square landscape, integrating transparently into the architecture and urban furniture, becoming a natural extension of the elements it reveals. A luminous thread envelops the entire building, creating a subtle continuity between the commercial spaces and offices. Continuous lines integrated into the furniture highlight the grand steps leading to the ground-floor shops, the benches in the relaxation areas, the planters, and the ground, guiding users toward the office entrances. To strengthen the interaction between the landscape and the architecture, Atelier dada proposed using palm trees as lighting supports. Strategically placed at the entrance to the commercial spaces and visible from the highway, these luminous palms play a key role. A strong symbol of local identity, these trees reconnect the city to its prosperous past in the 16th century, when it was covered with this species. Illuminated on the commercial side, they form a visual barrier that focuses the eye on the immediate landscape and softens the view of the highway for those near the towers. On the highway side, they transform into majestic silhouettes, cutting through the skyline in shadowplay against the illuminated buildings, offering a striking and memorable visual signature for the complex. At the rear of the towers, the streetlights initially prescribed by the client were replaced with more efficient models. These newly selected fixtures, chosen for their photometric performance , energy efficiency , and respect for dark skies , line the secondary road leading to the office entrances and underground parking access. By reducing the number of light points while enhancing their quality and aesthetic appeal , they contribute to the overall visual identity of the complex while meeting functional requirements. At Mondeal Square, light transcends the boundaries of mere illumination, becoming an ally of both architecture and landscape, transforming the space into a living and harmonious continuity.
