As part of the Aura des Racines lighting concept for the Sumel 6 complex, Atelier dada created two exclusive luminaires, Aura1 and Aura2, conceived to reveal the timeless beauty of the site and capture the spiritual essence of the century-old trees that surround it. These luminous elements introduce a poetic and contemplative dimension, embodying a deep connection between nature, culture and architecture.

Aura1 · The Light of Roots
Aura1 is a light integrated directly into the surrounding trees, inspired by the wheels of bicycles and street carts that animate the neighborhood. This luminaire pays tribute to local energy by softly illuminating trunks and branches, creating a visual link between earth and sky. At nightfall, Aura1 transforms the trees into benevolent luminous figures, watching over the complex and evoking the quiet strength of deep, enduring roots.

Aura2 · The Aura of Trees
More than a suspended light, Aura2 materializes the invisible aura of these century-old trees that deeply inspired the project. Designed as floating rings of light, Aura2 captures and reveals their subtle, protective energy, diffusing gentle halos above the internal streets of the complex.
Designed by Marie-Ikram Bouhlel, Aura2 was awarded the Trends Excellence Award in 2016, recognizing its strong conceptual vision and its sensitive dialogue between light, landscape and spirituality. By night, Aura2 envelops the space in calming luminous presences, reinforcing the welcoming and serene atmosphere of the site.

The Spirit of Aura des Racines
Aura1 and Aura2 are not merely lighting fixtures. They embody the essence of Aura des Racines, reconnecting the district with its natural and cultural heritage. Through these creations, Atelier dada offers Sumel 6 a timeless and harmonious nocturnal identity, where each gesture of light evokes the richness of the environment and invites a slow, immersive and deeply contemplative experience.
