Villa VPP, Carthage
An Inner Garden for the Mediterranean Night
For the garden of Villa VPP in Carthage, Atelier dada developed a lighting study conceived as a true nocturnal staging of the landscape.
Based on the landscape elements transmitted in plan, the work consisted in giving the garden a sensitive depth: revealing the trees, bringing out the pools, accompanying the pathways, softening the peripheral walls and composing an atmosphere where night becomes a design material.
Light builds a succession of delicate presences. The flowering foliage catches luminous touches, the water receives calm reflections, the sculptures appear as silent landmarks, while the shaded areas preserve the intimacy of the place.
In this enclosed garden, light organizes the gaze as much as the path. It accompanies the central axis, opens up depth, connects the different layers of the landscape and transforms the outdoor space into a nocturnal extension of the villa.
The visualizations developed by Atelier dada translate this intention into a perceptible atmosphere. They show how a lighting strategy can enrich a landscape composition, give it a nocturnal presence and create an experience that is elegant, luxuriant and controlled.
